Lillestrøm has had a slow start to the season. After a promising opening tie (almost a victory if not for a last second goal by Rosenborg Captain Dorsin) they seem to not been able to catch a break. The most recent one being against Molde. They lost 3-2. Their new pacy striker, a man we all know and admire, Luke Rodgers, was out with a foot injury. The young phenom from Iceland Sigurðarson was also out with an injury against Molde. These injury’s might be the reason or a semi-valid excuse for the loss, yet in football a club must win regardless of injuries and get points whenever possible. We should have gotten 2 more points the first game if not for the tie goal by RBK. I’ll try not to harp on these missing 2 points as the season progresses, but it might be hard not too.
The duration of the striker’s injuys are unknown. However, they are not serious and Sigurðarson will probably start against Stromsgodset IF on Saturday April 28th. Luke Rodgers though is doubtful and will probably return as a sub against FK Haugesund on May 6th. The dates are very hopeful posibilities and I may be incorrrect and off a week or two. For Lillestrøm’s sake let us hope I am correct.
I will post the Stream of Saturday’s game up here. It will be on at 10am EST so for all my fellow NY fans you can watch it before the home game later that day! Also let you know the status of our strikers. So stay tuned.
