What do you expect a 5’7” forward to do in a game when hes subbed in the 70th minute with a team he just joined a day ago and hasn’t played in a game in almost half a year. Well, if your name if Luke Rodgers you are supposed to score a header to put your club up 2-1 in the dying minuets of a match! Yes, the same Luke Rodgers that was some how denied his visa to play soccer here in the USA. The same Luke Rodgers that had an unforeseen impact along side Thierry Henry on the New York Red Bulls whos play impacted us so much so we were a much better team with him on the pitch than without.
As a Red Bulls fan I am upset, very upset that we could not secure Luke’s visa. The fact that the Department of Homeland security has been protecting us from 81 year old Grandmas, toddlers and Luke Rodgers isn’t making me feel and more secure. I am even more upset he scored a goal today. ( It should have been with us!) However, I am ecstatic at the same time he scored a goal today showing the world ha is the real deal. Lillestrom should be proud and excited to have Luke playing for them. To the Lillestrom supporters reading this, this is only the beginning of what Luke can do. Even when The Rosenborg captain Dorsin knocked in the equalizer Luke didn’t give up. He marched up the pitch and almost knocked in the game winner with his head from a cross.
It was an exciting match all around and the fact that Lilestrom even tied the most successful club in Norway is a minor victory. The goal by Rodgers was a walk in goal after a rebound off the crossbar..but it is Luke’s work rate that ensured he was in the right spot at the right time. Great job today Luke. It was a close one Lillestrom, you should have won. Lillestrom, keep him warm for us! I am rooting for you guys and Luke. Lets keep it going!

The stuff instant cult heros are made of. Scored a goal and ruptured my vocal chords after about eight minutes. Brilliant stuff. One question, how did you follow the match?
Ill be following your club this season. I have watched your league for a couple years now..my grandfather was from Norway and always spoke highly of a couple clubs there. I use freefootball.org They had a live stream of the game up. I use them to follow your league ..the Belgian league and the eredivisie in the netherlands.
